Victims of online credit card or bank fraud are being urged to report e-crime to the police.
It's as a survey by the North Wales Police Authority, which found more than half of victims only told their credit card provider or bank, but didn't tell the police as they didn't think there was anything they could do.
Vice Chairman Alun Lewis told the BBC, "E-crime can be just as upsetting as any other form of crime. It is one of the most intrusive crimes because in reality it's theft from your own home without you even knowing it."
The study estimates the theft of card or bank account details online was costing Welsh businesses alone nearly £300 million every year.
