The Algarve remains a popular choice for families looking to relocate to Europe from the UK to start a new life abroad.
This is the view of Daniel Queiros, executive director at the Algarve Promotion Bureau, who stated the area has a lot to offer visitors from the UK.
He explained one of the major advantages of the Algarve is that it is only a three-hour flight away from the UK, so families who move away do not have to travel a long way to visit friends.
Mr Queiros highlighted the fact that the "warm climate, lush rolling hills and beautiful coastline" are among the reasons people want to move to the Algarve.
Individuals who love to spend time sunbathing may find it is the perfect place to start a new life, as the region has 74 beaches that have been awarded Blue Flag status, showing they are clean and safe to visit.
The specialist noted that there is also a range of activities for visitors of all ages that will keep people occupied during their time in the Algarve, with watersports and hiking among the options for those who like to spend time in the outdoors, along with cooking classes, traditional fairs and festivals.
It was also pointed out by Mr Queiros that 26 regional airports serve the Algarve, so it is a part of the world that is easy to reach for those who want to become expats but are worried about being able to get home easily.
"The region offers value for money as a holiday destination and this combined with its warm climate - with mild winters and on average 300 days of sunshine a year - make the region a favourite year-round destination with UK travellers," he said.
Marc Da-Silva, editorial director at International Estate Agent Today, recently suggested property prices could be set to fall in Portugal in the coming months.
