Currency for Malta 

The Euro (EUR) is now the official currency of Malta. Malta's prior currency, the Maltese Lira, has now been phased out as legal tender and is no longer accepted.

Malta Banking open and closing hours

Banks are generally open from 08.30 am to 12.30 pm Monday to Friday and will definitely be closed on public holidays.
