If you are considering a money transfer to Macedonia, you might find that your options are a bit limited. However this does not mean that the process is difficult or impossible. It just means that there are just a couple of methods that you can use to make your transfers.
The currency of Macedonia is the Macedonian Dinar (MKD). It is advisable to do your currency transfer to Macedonia in this currency as it is your safest and best bet. However you can also use the Euro as an option. Euros are the easiest foreign currency to change here. While other popular currencies can be changed, they are not common.
Using banks
Banks are the best way to transfer money to Macedonia. They are safe and secure and the money is transferred from your account to the recipient's without any hassle. This may take a couple of days. Depending on the kind of bank, some of them even allow the recipient to pick up the cash from the counter directly. Bank transfers can be done from the bank in person or through an online banking facility.
Other means
Credit and debit cards are not a very common sight in Macedonia. In fact you will hardly find a handful of places that accept them and therefore using them to send money to Macedonia should not be an option that you consider. This is perhaps one of the few countries that you will have to stick to means that are much more traditional. You can also explore the option of using traveller's cheques. These however should be sent only in US Dollars or Euros as other currencies will be difficult to cash.
