Acceptable currencies

The official currency of Croatia is the Kuna (HRK). However if you want to transfer money to Croatia, you can also used USD which is widely accepted all over the country. Currency notes are available from Kn5 to Kn1000 and coins are available from 1lipa to Kn25.

Modes of acceptable currency transfer

There are various ways in which you can transfer money to Croatia. The best way to do this is through the post office or a bank. However you might be limited to their working time. Banks generally work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Restrictions that should be observed

When you send money to Croatia, you need to be aware that the country does have some restrictions that need to be followed. Receiving money in the local currency Kuna, can only be done up to a value of Kn2000. If this is in the form of notes, then it can only be up to a value of Kn500. There is not restriction on the amount of foreign currency.
