Currency Information on Nepalese Rupee - NPR— Nepalese rupee – Rs or रू
Subdivided into 100 paisa, the Nepalese rupee is attached to the Indian rupee and was introduced in 1932, when it replaced the silver mohar at a ratio of 1 rupee: 2 mohar.
Coins are available in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 paisa, Re. 1, Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10.
Banknotes are available in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 rupees, though the 1, 2, 25 and 150 rupee notes are rarely found in circulation.
